APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIPMEMBERSHIP OF HSANZ IS BY APPLICATION. YOU MUST BE NOMINATED AND SECONDED BY FINANCIAL MEMBERS OF HSANZMembership of HSANZ is by Application including nomination and seconded by Financial Members of HSANZ, followed by formal election by HSANZ Council. You can start your membership application by firstly download this form [new application form] and have it signed by a Proposer and Seconder who are financial Ordinary members of HSANZ. Once you have done this, scan the document, together with a copy of your resume showing your qualifications and the extent of personal involvement in the clinical or laboratory practice of haematology or your personal contribution to papers, publications, and other aspects of research relevant to haematology. Choose the membership type and complete the application online form with your scanned completed nomination form and CV. You do not need to pay until your application has been approved. Contact HSANZ office if you need help to find a Proposer or Seconder Once you have sent the required documents to HSANZ secretariat and your application documents are in order, it will be submitted for approval by the Council at the next Council meeting. You will be notified when your application is approved and can pay your subscription then. Membership Categories are:
Honorary Life Members shall be elected only on the recommendation of the Council and at an Annual General Meeting by the affirmative vote of the Members present.
Annual subscription fees for HSANZ membershipAmounts are in Australian dollars. If you are a resident of Australia 10% GST applies. Subscription period and renewal due dateSubscriptions run from 1 July to 30 June. Renewal notices will be sent out mid-June for the following financial year and are due by 1 July. LAPSED MEMBERSHIPRenewal notices are sent in mid-June for the following financial year with subsequent reminders. As per the Constitution 4.1, a Member's membership may be terminated if the Member fails to pay his/her annual subscription on or before the first day of December of the year in which the subscription was due to the society. Members whose subscriptions remain unpaid by 1 December will be classed as lapsed members. Thereafter, lapsed members are required to reapply for membership and pay a re-joining fee in addition to current subscription. ELECTION OF MEMBERSCandidates for Ordinary and Trainee membership of the Society shall be proposed and seconded by Ordinary financial members of the Society. Candidates for Associate membership of the Society shall be proposed and seconded by either two Ordinary or one Ordinary and one Associate member. Candidates for Associate Nurse membership shall be proposed and seconded by Ordinary or Associate Nurse members. Any such proposal shall be made upon the application form which will be approved by the Council. After consideration of the applicant's qualifications and interest in the field of haematology he/she may be declared an elected member of the Society by a majority vote of the Council.
