About Barwon Health

Barwon Health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South Western Region. It is Victoria's largest regional health service and one of the busiest hospital's in the State. We serve a population of over 500,000 through the efforts of over 8,000 staff and more than 1,200 volunteers. We provide care at all stages of life and circumstances through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care and subacute/rehabilitation. Care is provided to the community through over 28 key locations throughout the region.

About the facility

The Andrew Love Cancer Centre (ALCC) is a comprehensive cancer centre that has provided expert care to those affected by cancer in Geelong and Barwon South West of Victoria, in a supportive and caring environment since 1992.

Our service gives adults living in the region access to world class cancer treatment. Based in Geelong, we have state of the art facilities, equipment and highly skilled health professionals who provide personalised, patient-centered and effective care. Chemotherapy, haematology and radiotherapy services are provided at the Andrew Love Cancer Centre

About the role

Barwon Health is seeking an experienced Haematologist (Visiting Medical Specialist) to take up temporary sessional hours until February 2025. The position requires detailed knowledge and experience in all aspects of clinical haematology including malignant haematology, stem cell transplantation, apheresis and haemostasis/thrombosis and transfusion medicine. Further detail on the duties is outlined within the position description. The successful applicant will also participate in the Haematologist on call roster.
