Haematologist Senior Medical Officer
Waitemata District Health Board
Auckland, New Zealand
Waitemata District Health Board is located in a world-class harbour city and we operate across two sites – each with their own stunning scenery including some of the best beaches you’ll see anywhere in the world. Servicing the healthcare needs of a vibrant and diverse population, our goal is to become the leader of healthcare services in New Zealand.
Our Haematology Service provides comprehensive clinical haematology and laboratory haematology services to a large and culturally diverse population of nearly 640,000 people in the west and north of Auckland. Inpatient services are based at North Shore Hospital while Outpatient clinics and therapies are provided across both North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals.
We have an exciting opportunity for a fixed term Consultant Haematologist with a clinical focus to join our well established team.
Clinical areas include malignant haematology, a large thrombosis service as well as general haematology. In addition to our clinical and laboratory service we also have a large and active research team which is well recognised nationally and internationally. This strong research focus allows us to provide patients with novel anti-cancer drugs otherwise not available for patients.
Applications are invited from a suitably qualified specialist Haematologist. Applicants must have or be eligible to obtain vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and preferably have both FRACP and FRCPA.
Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the New Zealand Association of Salaried Medical Specialists’ collective agreement.
