    An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Haematology Fellow to join the Haematology team at Northern Health.

  • The beginning steps to a career in thrombosis research- be part of a dynamic and innovative research team with opportunities to develop and participate in various research projects in the area of thrombosis.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • To help support and develop the Clinical Haematology and Thrombosis Service at Northern Health, including inpatient and outpatient management
  • Attend 2 thrombosis clinics and 1-2 general haematology clinics per week. 
  • To participate in the after hours on-call rosters for Haematology/Oncology.
  •  To develop or participate in investigator-led research in the field of thrombosis at Northern Health, including the development and running of biomarker studies.
  • To develop a prospective VTE database which will facilitate future research
  • Assist the Clinical Trials Unit including both malignant and non-malignant trials
  • To support teaching and supervision of medical students, junior medical staff and physician trainees with a particular emphasis on general haematology and good clinical practice.

Selection Criteria

Must be a registered practitioner in the State of Victoria with appropriate training and experience in General Medicine and clinical haematology. Final year advanced trainee for the Royal Australian College of Physicians or a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) is desirable but not compulsory.
