An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Registered Nurse to join our Apheresis/Nurse led PICC insertion team.

Details of Department

The Apheresis unit, co-located with the Day Oncology unit, is a specialized service that operates as part of the Austin Health Cancer and Neurosciences Division.

The unit provides expert nursing services and specializes in the following procedures:

  • Apheresis procedures
  • A Nurse Led service for Peripherally inserted Central Catheters (PICC) for all of Austin Health’s inpatients & outpatients
  • Outpatient follow up for patients with haematological malignancy post chemotherapy treatment, bone marrow transplantation.  
  • Managing patients presenting for Peripheral Stem Cell Transplant within the ambulatory setting
